Befriending

Assisting and supporting those in need

Assisting anyone in the locality who requests someone to help, support and be a friend to them. This may involve just chatting, doing things together such as playing games, or going out together. Usually visits are made once a week, but this is informal and up to the participants.

Telephone Befriending

We offer a telephone befriending service.  If you are sat in this winter and have 15 minutes a week to spare to phone a member and have a chat to them, to help them feel less isolated and give them something to look forward to during the day. Or If you are sat in this winter and would like someone to call you and have a chat, then help is at hand.

WE URGENTLY NEED MORE VOLUNTEERS. IF YOU CAN SPARE AS LITTLE AS 15 MINUTES A WEEK TO PHONE A CLIENT IT WILL MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE TO SOMEONES LIFE.

we also need volunteers that can spare 1 hour a week in the morning to come into the centre and phone clients from the Volunteer Centre in New Mills.
